Gratitude & Your 5 Senses

Sue Patterson CoachingIf you’re creating a new gratitude project, don’t overlook your own five senses:

  • sight
  • smell
  • hearing
  • touch
  • taste

Sometimes we’re in our own heads too much, list-making and over-thinking.

I invite you to take a deep breath – oh, go wild, and take three! Breathe in and hold for a few seconds, then release. Continue to expel all that used air. And, do it again. Notice the feelings in your body as you begin to relax.

Close your eyes and think about what you love to taste, smell, see, feel, and hear. What makes you feel happy when you notice these things crossing your path? Allow a few minutes to let your mind wander about each sense. Write down 3 things you love in each area.

As you go about your day, notice things from a sensory place.
How do things smell? Or taste? Or feel?

Could you make changes so that you can delight your senses a little every day?

Be grateful for each of these senses as they can bring so much happiness into your life!

Let me know what you think, ok? Please comment.
